November 18-24, 2024 marks the 10th annual World AMR Awareness Week (WAAW). This global campaign aims to raise awareness about the urgent threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Bacteria and fungi are rapidly developing resistance to medicines worldwide, making infections challenging to treat and even fatal. The world can still avert 11 million deaths from antibiotic resistance with the development of desperately needed new antibiotics, and 92 million deaths can be avoided with better infection care and access to treatments. Join us in raising awareness in the fight against AMR.
